Our NERUPI Case Study | The Lincolnshire Traveller Initiative

Cosmos Engagement undertook face to face qualitative research, via Gatekeeper methodology, with 11 parents and 15 learners in the Travelling community.

Cosmos Engagement was commissioned by LiNCHigher to undertake an evaluation of Lincolnshire Traveller Initiative. This intervention aims to combat the low attendance of Travellers in secondary schools by offering mobile education to support home learning. This is part of a holistic project that focuses on improving employment, health, social, personal and educational development of the Travelling communities in Lincolnshire.

We found that the initiative, funded by LiNCHigher, supports educational attainment and progression by providing access and opportunities for young Travellers to gain Prince’s Trust qualifications. LTI fulfils a crucial role in providing support and services that Travellers are otherwise unable, or not confident, to access in mainstream society.

This was an extremely interesting project to be involved with and one we are very proud of.
