Finding Strength in Struggle | Sean’s Story

Daniel Todd 21 Nov 2024

Recently, we teamed up with with our valued partners and friends at Go Higher West Yorkshire, to create this ‘Finding Strength in Struggle’ podcast episode. The episode focus’ on the interesting and inspirational life journey of Cosmos Founder, and Managing Director, Sean Dirrane. GHWY are part of the national Uni Connect programme, who, like us, work to improve the outcomes of young people across the country.

This episode was originally created to support young people currently faced with challenges in their personal and educational lives. Sean will cover a range of topics related to his personal journey, including his background in the care system, personal life challenges faced during his upbringing, his experiences and progress through education, right through to setting up Cosmos Engagement.

Although slightly different to our usual episodes, we hope that Sean’s journey may inspire you. And if nothing else, shed light on why Cosmos has a passion for improving the lives of young people, regardless of their background. We really are the students that we are trying to improve the life outcomes for.

As always, we hope you enjoy this hard hitting but inspirational episode.

In this Finding Strength in Struggle episode, Sean Dirrane shares his inspiring journey from a challenging upbringing in the care system to becoming a successful entrepreneur and advocate for social mobility. He discusses the adversities he faced, the importance of education, and how resilience has shaped his life. Sean emphasises the value of authenticity, lifelong learning, and the need to find purpose in one’s work. His story serves as a beacon of hope for young people navigating their own struggles, encouraging them to embrace their differences and trust the process of life.
