At Cosmos, we’re passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential, whatever their background. In our monthly newsletter, I’ll be providing you with useful updates and experiences from the education sector.
The purpose of our newsletter is to offer you relevant content that enlightens, provides actionable insights, and contributes to the discussion on making educational outcomes fairer and more equal. And we hope it achieves just that.
I’m delighted that Naomi Prendergast, Project Lead at the Humber Outreach Project (HOP), very kindly sat down for a video interview discussing HOP’s flagship attainment-raising programme, Future Thinking, which is focused on developing metacognitive skills through self-regulated learning.
In the interview, Naomi discusses how the programme was innovatively developed in close collaboration with schools, and how Cosmos supported this important project.

Our Managing Director, Sean Dirrane, also recently shared his thoughts on the importance of Widening Participation (WP) amid the challenges posed by ongoing funding cuts.
Sean, who has worked in WP since 2008, also discusses how he personally benefited from WP initiatives – which led him into university at 18 and, ultimately, to set up Cosmos.

I’m thrilled to share with you the latest video from our new, quick-fire mini-series focused on essential evaluation skills in education, access and participation.
In this video, I share some key steps when developing a robust evaluation strategy, especially for programmes that involve access and participation activities.

That’s all for this edition of our newsletter, but I’ll be in touch again soon with more updates from the team here at Cosmos.
