We understand the ever growing need to robustly evaluate and measure the impact of government funded projects/programmes, within the education and public sectors. Clearly, this is a complex undertaking which often has many stakeholders involved and there are often challenges to achieving this.

Through interrogative primary & secondary research methods we robustly evaluate & measure the effectiveness and impact of initiatives.
An example of some of our Impact Research & Evaluation: we are currently working with a number of HEI’s, Access & Widening Participation teams and Uni Connect consortia to support them to effectively evaluate the impact of their outreach interventions.
The objective of this project is to be better able to report to the OfS (Office for Students) in order to evidence the impact of such funded projects. This will also support these organisations to improve future targeted funded for their projects.
What can we evaluate
We evaluate the impact of a wide range of activities from short-term to longer more sustained activities, and low to high intensity activities. Examples of the type of activities we evaluate include:
- Motivational talks
- Mentoring programmes
- Sustained educational programmes
- Open days
Our impact measures
Attitudinal Change: Identifying & measuring changes in attitude / outlook pre & post initiative.
Behavioural Change: Robustly testing for causality through secondary analysis, tracking of large datasets and use of comparison groups.
Knowledge & Skills Transfer: Identifying what learners have taken away from the initiative & mapping this back to the intended outcome and programme objectives.
Engagement & Satisfaction Levels: Using key indicators to evaluate & measure the learner experience (positive & negative).
